Restoration Church exists to reflect Jesus truthfully so others can experience him genuinely.

Our Beliefs

THE GOSPEL

To be a follower of Jesus is to believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel is the good news of redemption that comes from the sacrifice of Jesus on behalf of sinful humanity. Humanity, tainted by the sin of the first man Adam and our own individual sins, does not function as God intended when he brought about his creation. Humanity and creation as a whole, is still reeling from the disobedience of Adam. The only way to mend the broken relationship between humanity and God is for God to give up himself and pay what is required.

Jesus, the son of God, became human, lived an obedient life, was sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit but rose from the grave on the third day to restore that which was broken and provide hope and light for the hopeless and those living in darkness.

To experience the salvation that Jesus offers merely requires faith in Jesus and the recognition for redemption. Simply put, to experience salvation is to believe the Gospel of Jesus.

THE HOLY SCRIPTURE

The 66 books that make up the canonical Scripture were written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and are infallible truth and free from error in the original texts. It contains the whole counsel of God setting foth all that is necessary for God’s own glory, man’s salvation, faith, and life.

THE HOLY TRINITY

There is only one God who reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each member of the Trinity being a distinct person in the Godhead, but having no division of nature, essence, or being.

MAN

God created Adam and Eve as the first humans in his image and in a state of sinlessness. Having the ability to disobey God, they did so through the tempation of Satan. Upon disobeying God, they fell from their original righteousness and communion with God. Though the image of God was not destroyed, sin affects every part of man that it distorts the image of God and taints the whole of creation.

SALVATION

Salvation from the guilt and effect of sin can only come from a perfect obedience and a sacrifice deemed appropraite by God. Since God is the only one who can meet those two criteria, Jesus the Son, came to earth in a human body to live a perfect life and give himself up as the appropriate sacrifice. He died the death that we deserved to die as penalty for our sins and lived the live we are unable to live. Anyone who repents and believes in what Jesus accomplished will be saved. Salvation is by grace through faith. There is nothing that we can do to earn our way to heaven.

BAPTISM

Baptism is one of the ordinances given to the Church by Christ. It is an act carried out by all who profess faith in Jesus. In baptism, the believer is washed in water signifying that God, by grace, has forgiven their sins because of Christ’s shed blood in his sacrifice on the cross.

LORD’S SUPPER

Lord Supper is the second ordinace given to the Church by Jesus Christ. Participation in the Lord’s Supper serve two purposes: 1) It represents the remembrance of Christ and what He accomplished on the Cross. 2) It is a participation in the body and blood of Jesus. It is only those who have professed faith in Jesus that may participate in the eating and drinking.

Our Values

At Restoration Church, we are guided by four values that help us to reflect Jesus truthfully.

Open Dialogue

Throughout the ministry of Jesus, he often engaged with people openly and had no off-limit conversations. He dialogued with openness and truth. We are a church where no topic is off limit because it is in our open dialogue that we learn more about each other, ourselves, and God.

Intentional Presence

The God of the Bible has always been intentionally present with His People and was on full display in Jesus becoming human. We are a church that makes it intentional to be present in each other’s life. We pray and play together. We comfort and encourage one another. We seek to be the means by which God is present in each other’s lives.

Wholistic Growth

The gospel of Jesus is the transforming power that brings change and growth to every aspect of our lives. We are a church that believes that the Spirit of Christ is able to renew our whole being and so we seek to experience gospel growth in our relationships, political views, work, and other important areas of our lives.

Missional Engagement

The gospel of Jesus fuels missions. We are a church that believes to reflect Jesus truthfully is to be engaged missionally with our community, friends, and family. We seek to meet needs where God has provided us the resources to do so.
